Your choice matters: Even if your doctor suggested another facility, you can choose CID for your imaging needs.
P. Flinn Schanuel2 May 2024 Some times , some days , some hours, or even some phone calls can result in a bad encounter with this facility, but overall CID is a really good place that Hemet is lucky to have accessible in town. Be patient if you have to have a non-stat appointment scheduled, then don't miss it. It has many services available on site. Service dogs are allowed. Waiting rooms are clean, orderly, and have TV Plasmas set up. On my most recent visit to CID, I was scheduled to get biopsies on a mobile traveling unit (Dedicated Biopsy Services). I was hesitant, but the mobile unit was clean & well equipped. The technicians were excellent, the doctor was experienced & knowledgeable, and they were all polite, kind, informative, and professional. Although I don't recommend biopsies for fun, I do give this most recent experience an overall thumbs up. Radioactive tracer studies help identify and evaluate specific conditions. These studies use small amounts of radioactive substances, called tracers, designed to target specific organs, tissues, or cellular receptors.
As these tracers build up in targeted areas, their signals are captured using imaging technologies such as positron emission tomography (PET) or single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT). This creates detailed images that show the body’s physiological functions and abnormalities.
A key advantage of radioactive tracer studies is their ability to detect conditions early, often before symptoms appear or structural changes become visible on conventional imaging modalities.
In cardiology, these studies can assess myocardial perfusion and identify areas of reduced blood flow, which may indicate coronary artery disease. In oncology, radioactive tracers can highlight metabolically active regions within tumors, helping detect primary and metastatic cancer lesions.
The precision and sensitivity of these techniques make them essential for early diagnosis, accurate staging, and effective monitoring of treatment responses.
Beyond their diagnostic capabilities, radioactive tracer studies play an important role in functional assessment of organs and systems.
In neurology, these studies can evaluate brain activity and identify abnormalities related to conditions such as epilepsy, Alzheimer’s disease, and Parkinson’s disease. In nephrology, they can assess renal function and identify obstructions or abnormalities in kidney perfusion.
The detailed data from these studies help diagnose and guide personalized treatment plans, ensuring patients receive the most appropriate and effective care.
The quick and reliable results from radioactive tracer studies contribute to improved patient outcomes and quality of life.
Radioactive tracer studies are essential in medical diagnostics, providing insights into how the human body works.
By injecting small amounts of radioactive substances into the body, healthcare professionals can track the movement and interaction of these tracers with various physiological processes.
This method is especially important for detecting abnormalities such as tumors, infections, and other diseases early, improving the chances of successful treatment and recovery.
Radioactive tracer studies allow physicians to evaluate the functionality of organs and tissues non-invasively.
In cardiology, these studies can assess blood flow and identify blockages in coronary arteries, which is essential for diagnosing and managing heart conditions. In oncology, tracer studies help precisely locate cancerous cells, helping with diagnosis and targeted therapy.
This precision improves the effectiveness of treatment and reduces potential side effects, giving patients a better quality of life during and after treatment.
At California Imaging and Diagnostics, the skilled radiology team performs these tests, ensuring accurate results and thorough care.

Radioactive tracer studies are a diagnostic tool that provide insights into how your body works. At California Imaging and Diagnostics, we use these techniques to provide detailed functional imaging that can help diagnose and treat various conditions.
By using small amounts of radioactive materials, these studies can highlight areas of concern, showing how your organs and tissues are working. This level of detail is essential for identifying abnormalities that may not be visible through traditional imaging methods.
One of the primary benefits of radioactive tracer studies is their ability to detect diseases early. Early detection is vital to effective treatment, and the imaging capabilities of these studies help identify conditions before they become more serious.
This proactive approach can improve patient outcomes, making it easier to manage and treat diseases ranging from cancer to heart disease. With early and accurate diagnosis, treatment plans can be tailored precisely, increasing the likelihood of successful results.
Another advantage of radioactive tracer studies is that they are non-invasive. Unlike surgical procedures or other invasive diagnostic methods, these studies require only a small amount of radioactive material, which is usually injected, swallowed, or inhaled.
This makes the process easier for patients and reduces the risk of complications. The non-invasive nature of these studies means they can be performed quickly, allowing you to get answers with minimal disruption to your daily life.
Serving the Hemet, CA community, California Imaging and Diagnostics provides quality medical imaging services that prioritize your health and well-being.
Know your rights: Patients can select CID for their care, even with a referral to another provider.

GOT QUESTIONS?
Radioactive tracer studies are diagnostic tests that involve the use of small amounts of radioactive materials, or tracers, to visualize and evaluate the function of organs and tissues in the body. These tracers emit gamma rays, which can be detected by special imaging equipment to provide detailed images and information about your internal structures.
Radioactive tracer studies are generally considered safe. The amount of radiation used is very small and is comparable to that of many other diagnostic imaging tests. Our skilled radiology team guarantees that all procedures are conducted following stringent safety protocols to minimize any potential risks.
Radioactive tracer studies can help diagnose a variety of conditions, including but not limited to, cancer, heart disease, and thyroid disorders. They can also be used to evaluate organ function, detect infections, and identify abnormalities in blood flow.
During a radioactive tracer study, a small amount of the tracer will be injected, swallowed, or inhaled, depending on the type of study. After allowing some time for the tracer to circulate, you will be positioned under a special camera that captures images of the tracer’s distribution in your body. The procedure is typically painless and non-invasive, and you may resume normal activities shortly after.
At California Imaging and Diagnostics, we prioritize providing swift and dependable results. The time frame for receiving results can vary depending on the specific study performed, but our patient-centered approach ensures that you will be informed promptly. Your healthcare provider will discuss the findings with you and outline any necessary next steps.
